Action Off Bastia
$3.00Price
In October,1943 Allied coastal forces in the Mediterranean established a new base at Bastia, Corsica, which put the all of the Gulf of Genoa within easy patrol distance. The Germans a began mining the approaches to Bastia and using former Italian torpedo boats to bombard the harbor to combat the Allied coastal forces. In response, the Allies formed an anti-mining/harassment patrol group to intercept the Germans before they could drop their mines or shell the harbor. This led to a number of battles near Bastia.
